Okay, our “babies” are now a bit older, but these activities are ones we greatly recommend!

SwingingAndrew’s dad, Brian, asked Katya what she wanted for her birthday – and it couldn’t be something for the kitchen or for kiddo – it must be for her. “A swing!â€, Katya said. “A what!?â€, Andrew said. “No problemâ€, said Brian. And so, after some initial protests from Andrew about having holes drilled through the ceiling, we now have a swing in our hallway. Mind you, it has been the best thing for soothing Tolii right from his first month. |

MassageWe give kiddo a massage using “Aqueous Cream B.P.†from Lloyds Pharmacy almost every day. Its a great way to stimulate his growing muscles and have a fun time together after a busy working day. The book Baby Massage for Beginners by Peter Walker is excellent for learning the art of baby massage. Canadian Living magazine featured an article on baby massage in their August 2004 issue. |

Sleeping OutsideTolii and Tosha spent more time outside, even in the depths of winter, than both his parents combined! Mind you, the UK isn’t like Canada or Russia! Tolii even slept on a garden bench (given enough support to make sure he didn’t go kerplunk). Mostly though, they were bundled up and put into the push chair. We wheeled them around town to get them to sleep and left them in our garden. Both slept for several hours contentedly. And not once did we have a bird poop on them. Don’t worry, you’ll know when they are ready to come back inside. |
