Today, I took the day off work to spend with Tolii, on his last day of half-term break.
We went to Brooklands Museum and Mercedes-Benz World just inside the M25, about an hour’s drive away from Whitchurch (or 1.5 hours returning during rush hour on a Friday! Luckily, we got home just in time for the [...]

It was summer again yesterday. We headed down to Portsmouth with the plan of visiting the Royal Naval Museum in order to visit the sites we didn’t last time (you buy a ticket that covers them all and can go back anytime in the next year).
However, it was the annual kite festival weekend there, [...]

Beaulieu Motor Museum with Granny

March 25th, 2008 · No Comments

Granny took us all out to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. We were last at Beaulieu in September 2007.
Have a look at all the photos Andrew took!
We discovered that our year’s pass only gave us readmission to the museum , and not the the palace house. Although, the price was discounted by [...]

A Varekai Day

February 1st, 2008 · 2 Comments

Daddy took Tolii into London today for a “day out with Daddy”.
We started the day by missing our 9:12 train because Tosha was dilly-dallying over his breakfast (he does eat it eventually). But hey, it was a day off for daddy, so who really cares?
There was a distraction: the dinosaur eggs that Tolii and [...]

A Loss at Victory!

January 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment

One of Tolii’s Christmas presents was a book of tickets for various experiences. One of them we cashed in last weekend: a trip to Portsmouth harbour to visit HMS Victory, Nelson’s ship at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Sculpture Slides - Or Just Plain Fun!

April 5th, 2007 · No Comments

Last Sunday, we visited London to take Tolii to the slides at Tate Modern. It is (was) an artistic installation of Carsten Höller, a German artist now living in Stockholm. For the record, these “sculptures” were called Test Site.
For Tolii (and daddy) they were just some fantastically huge slides! Tolii wasn’t tall [...]

Grandpa and Daddy took Tolii and Seva to the Intech science centre near Winchester today. A good time was had by all.
Seva really liked twisting the handle of the screw lift to bring up the pellets to the conveyor belt, where Tolii shot them along into the hopper.
Tolii enjoyed playing with the beach ball [...]

Yesterday, Tolii took the train into London with Grandpa and Daddy to visit the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum.
