It was Tristan’s 3rd birthday party yesterday afternoon (its 2am and I’m just back from the pub celebrating with his dad, Coops).
No matter what Tristan thought of his bash, I have to say it was the coolest 3rd birthday party I’ve ever been to without being arrested for a firearms offense.
I mean, to give a [...]

Power Picnic and Josh Sleepover
July 27th, 2008 · No Comments
I’ve lost track of how many Power Picnics we’ve hosted over at the Millennium Meadow. I think today was the third. Sorry, yesterday. I really must start these blogs entries earlier, lest I fall further behind — forgive me…I was listening to music while sprawled on the sofa with my feet and legs twinging from [...]

Whitchurch Carnival and Procession
July 5th, 2008 · No Comments
This town of ours keeps on wow-ing us. Today was the first carnival and procession in the town since 1996 - and you could tell the event has been sorrily missed. The king, queen, prince and princesses were all in attendance, too!
The creativity and fun shown was second to none. Heck, it [...]

Power Picnic no.2

This weekend we hosted our second “Power Picnic” on Whitchurch’s Millennium Meadow. The idea is to get a few friends together and head down to the town’s beautiful meadow for some volunteer work mowing the lawn - plus having a BBQ and a few beers.
We had been concentrating our efforts around the little stream that [...]

This afternoon, we joined up with Kudrat and most of his kids to have a “power picnic” on the Millennium Meadow. As usual, there are lots of photos of the event!
The power was supplied by the turbo-charged (it seemed) power lawn mower owned by the Millennium Green Trust. The picnic was supplied by Katya.

Visiting Longstock Water Garden
May 4th, 2008 · No Comments
We headed over to the Longstock Park Water Garden in Leckford after a busy morning (again) of football practice [Tosha kept busy by running around the huge field] {I don’t know why I like using different kinds of brackets for these asides}.
The water garden is owned and managed by Waitrose, of the grocery fame (in [...]

Tosha, The Screaming Swimmer
April 26th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Today was Tosha’s first swim lesson. His lesson at 10:20am at St. Swithun’s School’s pool was at about the same time as Tolii, Angus and Rupert’s lesson. And, Katie joined the swim school this term too!
All this and you’d think things would go, well, swimmingly.
Daddy and mummy decided to see if just one [...]

Marble Run

Tolii’s rocket reached the planet Mars (its a reward chart). We had a reward that we were itching to give to the kids and this was a good reason to do so!
The reward is the Super Marble Run by Galt.
Daddy gave it to the boys this morning after they got dressed and had breakfast. [...]

But What About Tosha?
April 1st, 2008 · No Comments
Tolii went back to George’s house after last Thursday’s story time at Whitchurch Primary School.
As a reward for his very good behaviour, his mummy, Emma, gave both of them two little toy cars as treats.
Tolii thanked her, and then said, “But, what about Tosha?”
This floored Emma (and made her feel a bit ashamed, she said [...]

Hail the Easter Egg Hunt!
March 22nd, 2008 · No Comments
Not even a hail storm could prevent our annual Easter Egg hunt from going ahead.
The eggs weren’t really egg-shaped: they were in the shape of bugs, chickens, bunnies and very big bunnies (all from Lidl).
We descended upon the Whitchurch Millennium Meadow for the event. There’s even more photos in our gallery.
There were lots of [...]

A Visit To Richard and Sue’s
March 16th, 2008 · No Comments
We all headed over to Richard and Sue Lampitt’s house for a lovely lunch.
Just don’t you dare try to take away the chocolate sweetie from Tosha!
Afterwards, we went out for a walk. It was a damp and cold walk. Hopefully, better weather will come soon…

Dorset Holiday Weekend

What a fantastic weekend we all had. We headed down to a cottage in Dorset for a mini-holiday courtesy of granny. It was one of her Christmas presents to the boys — and oh boy! did they (and us) every enjoy it. So much so that Tolii was in tears leaving the place [...]

Stefan, a friend dating back over 20 (!!) years from Grade 13 at the Ontario Science Centre Science School, visited London with his family. They are just wrapping up his sabbatical in Austria before heading back to their home in Guelph, Ontario.
It was a bit of a shock for them to be surrounded by [...]
