About The Place…
Under some electricity pylons, beside a roundabout, just off the ring road, down from a housing estate there is a little gem of a lake and park hidden away in Andover, Hampshire.
Its called Anton Lakes Local Nature Reserve. We first visited the place back on 24 June 2007.
And you’ll probably not find its entrance, even though it is right off the roundabout.
If you do find it, then you’ll enjoy a walk around the lake, perhaps spotting some fishermen, or someone camped at the side.
If you take a net, then you can be an amateur biologist by catching some interesting insects and bugs to look at.
Finish up by having a play at the large play park (again, if you can find it).
Take your wellies and enjoy. Oh yes, and take your GPS.
There also looks to be a nice forest in the middle of the roundabout, too – I wonder if anyone has explored it. Now there’s an idea for our next visit. I wonder if anyone has set up camp in the middle of that roundabout forest?
