Today, we went to Paultons Park for the first time. We had been meaning to go there all this summer but never got around to it - maybe because of the grey, cool weather? Or we just didn’t know how wonderfully it would surprise us.
The park’s lovely grounds are a mixture of plants, animals, dinosaurs and screaming rides, perfect for 3 to 12 year olds.
Up to today, the only amusement park they had been to was the imaginary world of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. They both love to sit in front of the computer and listen to the cyber people scream as they shoot around the coasters’ bends.
Well, it was time to experience the feeling first hand. Did they like it? Come on, you know they did!
Tolii insisted on going around and around on the Cobra coaster (luckily there were no queues first thing in the morning). And then Tosha enjoyed himself on the smaller Stinger (aka caterpillar) coaster — four times!
Apart from coasters, the boys enjoyed the giant swing, the pirate ship, the long slide, the water log ride (yes, we got wet, but not soaked), the jumping bean, the tractors, the train, the penguins (really!) and the mini-golf. There’s more, but you get the idea!
A special mention should be made of the feat accomplished by Tolii: he insisted on climbing up a huge wall. He didn’t quite make it to the top, but he gave it several shots and amazed us with his confidence.
Good value; great fun! And just 30 minutes from Whitchurch!

[...] coasters now (he and Tosha both love playing Roller Coaster Tycoon; and still reminisce about their trip to Paultons Park, riding the coasters there). Maybe my vertigo virus will be counter-balanced by the coasters? [...]
