Today was the official day of Tosha turning three. Like Tolii last year, he is going to have a couple weeks’ worth of parties to celebrate. A week or so ago was his official party - moved ahead so his best buddy Josh could attend before he went on holiday.
This afternoon, Tosha went over to [...]

Rice Cream
August 25th, 2008 · No Comments
Tosha discovered that he can have dinner and dessert at the same time!
It just takes saving a bit of the rice from dinner and mixing it in with the ice cream served for pudding. Tolii, once he saw what Tosha was up to, dived right in to speed the process along.

Portsmouth Kites, Rides and Slides
August 24th, 2008 · 1 Comment
It was summer again yesterday. We headed down to Portsmouth with the plan of visiting the Royal Naval Museum in order to visit the sites we didn’t last time (you buy a ticket that covers them all and can go back anytime in the next year).
However, it was the annual kite festival weekend there, [...]

Ticked Off
August 23rd, 2008 · 1 Comment
We love our cats - mostly. A week or so ago, though, they brought us a present that we certainly didn’t want: fleas.
Katya got the worst of them - bites all over her ankles. The kids had a bite or two; and Andew got one on his forehead! Yikes!
So - Friday turned into a disinfect-the-house [...]

Pirate Tosha Celebrates His 3rd Birthday
August 17th, 2008 · 2 Comments
Pirate Tosha celebrated his 3rd birthday on the Millennium Meadow - a bit ahead of schedule because best friend Joshua is heading out on holiday. Many more photos are in our gallery.
Everyone was dressed for the occasion…except for our boys who point-blank refused any costumes. And what costumes there were!

Cine to Digital Video
August 16th, 2008 · No Comments
I just got back the digitized version of all of my dad’s Super 8mm cine film!
What does that mean?
It means we can watch films from my childhood in the 1970s without having to set up a projector!

Tosha Gets Stung
August 13th, 2008 · No Comments
I have been off work sick this week. A summer’s cold. Or, just a cold summer. Either way, I had a call from the nursery at 11:40am saying that Tosha had come in from playing outside and his eye was swelling up.
No one had seen what had happened, but it appeared to be a bee [...]

Through The Eyes of a Four-Year Old

I gave Tolii my old Panasonic Lumix FZ5 camera back in May. He’s been taking photos off and on with it for a little while. Its great to see the world through his eyes…

Whether Wet Weather Is Normal
August 13th, 2008 · No Comments
Its been a terrible August*: lots of gray skies and downpours. And its friggin’ cold (15C today). The only way through the gray, blah winters is to look forward to the summers…but is this now impossible?
Kayta’s British mates at work insist this is typical British weather, and that the hot, sunny summers of 1995-2005 [...]

Baby Tips!
August 11th, 2008 · No Comments
No, we’re not expecting again. Its just that I finally got around to moving the “baby tips” from our very old website over to this new one.
You’ll find a link to all our tips, hopefully to expand to more than just baby tips, in the “Pages” list of this website.

This website upgraded to Wordpress 2.6
August 9th, 2008 · 2 Comments
A technie note … I’ve just upgraded this website to use Wordpress 2.6. It came out a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to wait in case there were any issues…there doesn’t seem to be, so I took the plunge.

Aalborg Without a Stop(per)
August 6th, 2008 · No Comments
I popped over to the Rohde & Schwarz office in Aalborg, Denmark for meetings on Tuesday.
What a fabulous building! It used to be an old gas works - converting coal into gas. It was derelict for 20 years before R&S took it over about 4 years ago. They built up three floors inside it. Its [...]

Grandpa Arrives, Takes Train
August 3rd, 2008 · No Comments
No sooner had grandpa arrived that he departed…for a splendid day out on the Mid-Hants Watercress Line!
The weather, was bland, bordering on pouring rain (luckily not until we got home). However, that made for some great lighting for my photos — see our gallery!
This is a steam train line that has many engines and rolling [...]

Potato Party
August 3rd, 2008 · 1 Comment
It was Tristan’s 3rd birthday party yesterday afternoon (its 2am and I’m just back from the pub celebrating with his dad, Coops).
No matter what Tristan thought of his bash, I have to say it was the coolest 3rd birthday party I’ve ever been to without being arrested for a firearms offense.
I mean, to give a [...]
