Both Tolii and Tosha have recently taken to architecture or at least, civil engineering. Over the past few days, we’ve seen bridges, churches and towers constructed (and destructed).
Tolii has gone as far as creating castles with intricate designs for doors, windows and towers!
Tosha meanwhile has tried to create a tower comparable to Taipei’s 101!

This website upgraded to Wordpress v2.5
March 31st, 2008 · 1 Comment
A technie note, just so I remember that today was the day (night?) that I upgraded to Wordpress v2.5 (this is what shows you the page you are reading, its layout, etc. Basically, its the engine behind this website).
Sadly, two plugins for it no longer work: 404-Notifier and WP-Table
I’ve lost all the links on [...]

Beaulieu Motor Museum with Granny
March 25th, 2008 · No Comments
Granny took us all out to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. We were last at Beaulieu in September 2007.
Have a look at all the photos Andrew took!
We discovered that our year’s pass only gave us readmission to the museum , and not the the palace house. Although, the price was discounted by [...]

Hail the Easter Egg Hunt!
March 22nd, 2008 · No Comments
Not even a hail storm could prevent our annual Easter Egg hunt from going ahead.
The eggs weren’t really egg-shaped: they were in the shape of bugs, chickens, bunnies and very big bunnies (all from Lidl).
We descended upon the Whitchurch Millennium Meadow for the event. There’s even more photos in our gallery.
There were lots of [...]

Redevelopment Of Old Library’s Site
March 22nd, 2008 · No Comments
The plans for the redevelopment of the site that used to have the “temporary” (from the 1970s!) library show a really ugly set of buildings.
I added my comments to the plans at the Basingstoke & Dean Borough Council (B&DBC) website. It showed the status as still being in “consultation” even though the notices [...]

Whitchurch Daffodils, and Development
March 20th, 2008 · No Comments
It was the first day of spring…and the daffodils at the All Hallows Church were in full bloom. The bunnies were quite active too! More photos are in our gallery.
The construction of the new housing development, Park View, on the other side of the old railway line is well underway.
The newly [...]

Snow in Whitchurch? No, Just A Proud Cat and His First Kill
March 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Snape, one of our cats, was just beside himself with squeaks and meows.
Mummy pulled back the curtain to see what all the fuss was about.
All she saw was snow.
But wait, the severe weather watch isn’t for today…it is for tomorrow.
That’s not snow…its feathers!
Out she went. Sure enough, there’s Snape strutting about the deck showing [...]

Tolii Builds Bridges
March 19th, 2008 · No Comments
Tolii showed off his civil engineering and architectural skills this morning: have a look at the symmetry he used in his two bridges. The tower is a very nice touch.
Later, he created a boat out of similar blocks to sail past them.
How all of it managed to survive Hurricane Tosha we’ll never figure out.

Regular Expressions
March 19th, 2008 · No Comments
No, this isn’t about what Tolii and Tosha say to us every evening after being told its bath time!
Instead, its a post to refer you to this excellent tutorial on the computer kind of “regular expressions”, a way of expressing to a computer what to search for.
For example, here’s how to search for an email [...]

Terrible Twos (and Fours)
March 17th, 2008 · No Comments
What has happened in the past week that has turned our two angels into hell raisers at home?
I’m sure anyone who has met our two lovelies won’t believe any of this story.
Daddy this morning awoke to what he thought would be a straight-forward Monday morning routine. In fact, it should have been even simpler [...]

Stinky Poo, Stinky Poo
March 17th, 2008 · No Comments
Tosha loves to sing. Here’s his latest song, heard while he was sitting on the toilet:
Stinky Poo, Stinky Poo, where are you?
Here I am, here I am; How do you do?

An Unexpected Question for Daddy
March 17th, 2008 · No Comments
Says Tolii while sitting in the bath watching daddy take a leak in the toilet: Why is your penis larger than mine?
Its tough to keep a good aim when asked these unexpected questions!
The question did, though, lead to a good discussion of how all parts of us grow bigger as we grow up; except for [...]

A Visit To Richard and Sue’s
March 16th, 2008 · No Comments
We all headed over to Richard and Sue Lampitt’s house for a lovely lunch.
Just don’t you dare try to take away the chocolate sweetie from Tosha!
Afterwards, we went out for a walk. It was a damp and cold walk. Hopefully, better weather will come soon…

Open Day at National Oceanographic Centre
March 16th, 2008 · 1 Comment
The National Oceanographic Centre (NOC), formerly Southampton Oceanography Centre (SOC), held its annual open day this Saturday during the Science and Engineering week festivities. There’s a few photos here; and, as usual, more photos, in our gallery.
It was a great opportunity for mummy to show Tolii and Tosha where she worked. Even though both [...]

Snape Gets Bandaged Up
March 16th, 2008 · No Comments
Tolii and Tosha cornered Snape and Lyra, our two cats, in their bedroom and shut the door.
A little while later, mummy opened the door, because it was getting a bit too quiet in their room. Something must be up!
Sure enough, once the door was opened…Whoosh! A black streak with green and pink highlights zoomed [...]
