Its been quite a cool summer so far this year - just 18C on some days and lots (!) of rain. No flooding here, but lots up in the north of the country.
In spite of this [...]

Anton Visits Anton Lakes!
June 24th, 2007 · No Comments
Gill, Katie’s mum, gave us a ring this (mostly) rainy afternoon to see if we could join them at the lovely little nature reserve in nearby Andover called Anton Lakes Local Nature Reserve.
Update: now you can read about the place on our kids’ outings page.
Katya was between Gatwick airport and home (Baba flew home today) [...]

This afternoon, we trotted off to The Vyne, a National Trust property north of Basingstoke. It was our first visit there - and wow! have we been missing out on this local gem. Absolutely stunning river and yard with a wonderful walk alongside the river to a marsh, complete with bird watch hut. We were [...]

June 21st, 2007 · No Comments
Tolii and Tosha met some of their friends and had a very good time at the Whitchurch primary school’s family fun evening tonight. Tolii loved the bouncy castle and getting his face painted. Tosha loved to chase balloons and play with Joshua!

The multi-touch computer from Microsoft
June 3rd, 2007 · No Comments
This has nothing to do with the family. Microsoft has announced its multi-touch display computer. It was written up in Popular Mechanics.
David Pogue of the NY Times, noticed that it is awfully similar to something first demonstrated by Jeff Han at the TED conference. Lots of the stuff for it is all preliminary and hacked together [...]

Splashing about at Mottisfont Abbey
June 2nd, 2007 · No Comments
What a wonderful day for a trip to the National Trust’s Montisfont Mottisfont Abbey near Romsey, Hampshire. The kids loved to splash in the freezing cold stream from the font and watch their dropped sticks float down and over the waterfalls.
Update: see the page we wrote about Mottisfont Abbey

Tosha up front
June 1st, 2007 · No Comments
Tosha decided yesterday that he will ride in front of Tolii in the pushchair (up to now it was Tolii who had to sit over the front wheel, facing backwards). We have no idea what prompted him to swap!
Tosha has been a bit of a terror towards Katya the past few evenings after being [...]
