From 33C in Toronto to 8C in London. Its “Global Freezing” here. It was so great to give my kids a big hug after returning from my Canada trip. And boy, one does notice their very Hampshire, English accent after being surrounded by Canadian kids for a few days!
We bundled up and [...]

Kitchen done (at last!)
May 23rd, 2007 · 1 Comment
Last October we bought a new kitchen from Ikea. Today the fourth (or was it fifth?) counter top was finally installed. Ikea screwed up most bits of the process in various ways - and for the counter top in many, repeated ways.
It does all look marvelous at last, though!

And another milestone…Tosha sat in a big chair instead of his high chair at dinner tonight. He used spoons (big and small) to eat his meatballs, broccoli and rice. The chair needed a good wipe afterwards, though.

Another day, another milestone or two. After lunch, mummy went hunting for the chocolate cookies to give to Tolii since he ate all his food.
Daddy whispered to Tolli, “Daddy ate the cookies a week ago…sorry Tolii. But, shh!, don’t tell mummy!”.
When mummy came back to the table…you guessed it, Tolii said, [...]

A Real Swimmer
May 19th, 2007 · No Comments
At today’s swim lesson, Tolii actually swam for real. He moved his arms around in circles, kept his head looking down at the bottom of the pool, then tilted his head side to side as his arms went around and kicked his legs.
He may have swam a bit wobbly but he got from the [...]

On 8 May, Tosha abandoned his crib for good - now he spends his nights on the bottom bunk. That is after he has a good tussle with Tolii on the top bed.

Tolii’s First Trip to McDonald’s
May 8th, 2007 · No Comments
Some parents remember the first words. Some remember the first step.
Daddy remembers that on 6 May 2007 Tolii went to McDonald’s.
We didn’t mean to.
Tolii had just finished a fun morning at JJ’s and we were planning to go to the Spruce Goose pub at Basingstoke’s leisure centre.
For the second time in a row, they [...]
